Building a better LEGO Star Wars 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack
Is it possible to build a better speeder bike with the parts provided in LEGO Star Wars 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack? We think so.
In many reviews of the just-released 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack – including our own – a lot of praise has centred on the Clone Troopers, Battle Droids and tri-droid build, but criticism has focused on the simplicity of the remaining builds in the set. For a 7+ model, things like the speeder bike skew too closely to something you would find in a 4+ set.
So, in the spirit of curiosity, we have had a play around with the speeder bike design, actually removing a few pieces and rearranging a few others, to try to resolve some of the most immediate issues.
For one, the bike doesn’t need two minifigures on it, nor does the ride height have to be that high, so both of those were the first things addressed, before then looking to rebuild the bodywork around the remaining speeder bike rider. Combine those with a few alterations to the back end of the bike and what we’ve put together is (we think) a little more dynamic, to at least give the sense that it can move a bit quicker across the ground.
We also took one of the rounded 1×2 plates and centred it underneath the speeder bike to give the vehicle a subtle hover effect.
Is there a job for us at the LEGO Group waiting? Probably not. But hopefully there are some ideas in here that may inspire you to improve upon your speeder bike too.
