Two upcoming LEGO GWPs now available in Australia
With two new LEGO GWPs now available in Australia, that suggests a global release for both is coming up and offers a rough price estimate.
We got our first official look at 40690 Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books just a few days ago and 40688 Trophy Award last week, suggesting both would be available imminently – and now that has been confirmed.
Both are currently available on the official Australian LEGO online store as free GWP, with 40690 Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books available for all LEGO purchases over $240 (AUD) and 40688 Trophy Award on purchases over $105 (AUD) and over until July 27. This means they’re most likely set for worldwide availability tomorrow, seeing as Australia often gets hours a few hours ‘earlier’ thanks to the timezones.
$240 in Australia is around £125 / $160 / €150 and $105 is £55 / $70 / €65, offering some insight into the ballpark figures for how much you’ll need to spend to earn yourself either of the GWPs in other parts of the world. The LEGO Group has not officially confirmed the details of availability worldwide just yet, so those prices could be subject to change.
While the threshold for 40690 Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books might be a relatively high threshold, we’ve already dubbed the GWP as one of the best in 2024 in our in-depth review where we got our hands on the 351-piece set. The model is inspired by the famous writer’s most well-known novels, such as Around the World in Eighty Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Five Weeks in a Balloon. It also includes a Jules Verne minifigure.
Keep an eye on online LEGO stores around the world for details on how much you need to spend to earn yourself 40690 Tribute to Jules Verne’s Books and 40688 Trophy Award, or simply stay tuned to Brick Fanatics for more as we get it.
