Rumoured LEGO Marvel 2025 set could be the chance for a new kind of Ultron
Early rumours for LEGO Marvel 2025 sets might suggest that we’re seeing a long-running minifigure in a new light.
The latest LEGO Marvel rumours, as reported by reliable Instagram user brick_clicker, suggest that a new mech in the form of 76307 Iron Man Mech vs Ultron could be on the way. This won’t be the first time that Iron Man has been featured in a mech but it could mark a new era for Ultron.
We’ve already had several iterations of Ultron, whether that’s Ultron-themed sentries in a similarly-named set to the one that’s rumoured, 76029 Iron Man vs. Ultron, or as the different bodies that Ultron takes on in the MCU, with Ultimate Ultron in 76032 The Avengers Quinjet City Chase, Ultron Prime in 76031 The Hulk Buster Smash, Ultron Mark 1 in 76038 Attack on Avengers Tower, and of course a fresh variant for 76269 Avengers Tower.
However, LEGO Marvel mechs have often been opportunities for comic-accurate character designs to make their mark. Just look at the now-retired 76202 Wolverine Mech Armour for a prime example. This could therefore be prime time for a comicbook Ultron to make an appearance. While his look differed just as much as the MCU Ultron, this typically meant a monochrome body for the artificially intelligent villain, in chrome silver or white, as pictured below.
That would certainly make for a striking look for Ultron. While he only got a one-movie run in the MCU, he’s a much more far-reaching villain in the comics, meaning long-term Marvel fans are clamouring for a comic-accurate version of the iconic baddie. Of course, it’s all speculation for now, so we’ll have to wait until next year to know for sure.
