These pictures will make or break LEGO Harry Potter Aragog for you

LEGO Harry Potter fans are having the best and the worst of times with 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest.

With over a month on shelves, many people have already built LEGO Harry Potter 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest and are having mixed experiences with how it appears around the house. The bulk of the 195 pieces goes towards Aragog himself, with creepily realistic spindly legs. While it’s an impressive feat for the LEGO Harry Potter designers to achieve such a likeness, it also leaves room for confusion to occur.

For some, like reddit user sampsen, it’s a prime opportunity for a good prank. They shared pictures of their 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest suspended on the wall, with the caption: “Got the wife good with this one.”

From afar, it really does look like a terrifyingly enormous spider has got its way into the house – something which, depending where you are in the world (looking at you, Australia), could actually happen. Even if not, that first sighting of a spider the size of your hand would probably send all rational thought out of your head.

Someone who has experienced that fear firsthand therealdickkickem, writing on reddit that they “instantly regret their decision.”

“Yesterday I took my three-year-old daughter to our local LEGO store for the new releases,” they continued. “Out of all the new sets, Friends, Space, Disney, she insisted on the new Harry Potter Aragog set.

“At the counter, the cashier looked at me and then my daughter who had a smile from ear to ear and asked “Why are you buying this?” with a disgusted look. I fear that my daughter knew what she was doing as I will find this throughout my house for years to come.”

Those photos are similarly creepy, perhaps even more so thanks to being semi-camouflaged in the carpet. All in all, these photos should come either as a warning to those with a fear of spiders – or as an invitation to those who love a good prank. If you’re in the latter camp, you might be interested to know that GAME has 76434 Aragog in the Forbidden Forest for just £14 right now, £3 less than at the LEGO Group. If you’re a relative of someone who pranks you with this, we take no liability for the events that might have occurred.
