Next LEGO Shops of the World 2024 gift-with-purchase rumoured
The first details on the next LEGO Shops of the World gift-with-purchase have surfaced, teasing the successor to March’s 40680 Flower Store.
The LEGO Group has replaced last year’s Houses of the World series with a new line of microscale, modular gifts-with-purchase, which kicked off last month with 40680 Flower Store. That 338-piece model was available from March 1 to 10 with orders above £180 / $200 / €200 at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, or £40 / $50 / €50 less than was required to pick up each of the four Houses of the World sets.
Instagram user itavixbrix now reports (via brick_clicker) that the next model in the series will be 40684 Fruit Store, which will again be free when spending at least $200 at the LEGO Store or LEGO.com – so presumably £180 in the UK and €200 in Europe. Exactly when it will be available is not yet known, but if the LEGO Group has four of these to work through in 2024, the second one should be along relatively soon.
These buildings are constructed in the same design language as the Houses of the World sets, which means they’ll sit pretty nicely on the shelf next to that collection if you were picking them up throughout 2023. But even if 40680 Flower Store was your first taste of this style of freebie, you’re probably going to want the rest – including 40684 Fruit Store, if and when that one pops up online.
The exact number of sets in the Shops of the World series has yet to be outright confirmed by the LEGO Group, but an equivalent number of shops to houses – four – seems logical. Whether 40684 Fruit Store really is the next instalment is still just a rumour at this stage, so take it with the customary grain of salt until officially revealed by the LEGO Group.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
