LEGO Icons Botanical Collection is set to have a record-breaking year
The LEGO Botanical Collection is growing to new heights this year, breaking a new record with impressive ease.
Following the rumoured news via Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat that two more LEGO Botanical Collection sets are on the way later this year, hot on the heels of the reveal of 10368 Chrysanthemum and 10369 Plum Blossom, it’s clear that 2024 is going to be a record-breaking year for the sub-theme. Even without the two rumoured sets, this year will be the highest number of Botanical Collection builds ever released in one year.
This year will see six sets join the Botanical Collection, as well as one GWP if you count 40683 Flower Trellis Display. That includes 10329 Tiny Plants, 10328 Bouquet of Roses, 40725 Cherry Blossoms, 40747 Daffodils, 10368 Chrysanthemum, and 10369 Plum Blossom, reaching across both LEGO Icons and Creator.
Since the Botanical Collection’s inception in 2022, annual releases saw five sets in 2022, three in 2023, and five in 2024. If the two rumoured sets do indeed come out, that would put 2024 at a whopping eight sets joining the collection, more than double what we had in 2023.
Clearly, the Botanical Collection has gone down a treat with builders. It’s thought to have introduced still more people to LEGO as a hobby than other themes, with the rise of LEGO dates on TikTok. What’s more, the Botanical Collection features largely mid-range prices across the board, making them accessible as entry-level sets. Above all else, they just look good and don’t need to be displayed alongside various other LEGO sets to make sense as home decor.
With 2024 marking a record year for the theme, here’s hoping for many more creative, colourful Botanical Collection sets to join the LEGO system.
