LEGO Icons 10318 Concorde departure delayed for new buyers just weeks after release
It looks like the LEGO Group has another winner on its hands with 10318 Concorde, the departure time of which is now weeks away for anyone buying their ticket today.
Originally scheduled to take off on September 4 for LEGO Insiders and September 7 for everyone else, the first aircraft under the new LEGO Icons banner is now on back order until October 9 in the UK and Europe. Travellers in the US, meanwhile, are currently facing a delay of 60 days on all orders of 10318 Concorde, which is clearly selling very well through LEGO.com – despite no new gifts-with-purchase launching alongside it.
If you’re keen to take a flight on the supersonic airliner, recreated here in 2,083 pieces and measuring more than a metre long, you can at least bag yourself at least one free gift: 40561 Pencil Holder is free with purchases above $65 in the US, while Brick Fanatics readers in the UK can claim 40578 Sandwich Shop with orders above £70 by redeeming a unique code at checkout (click here to get yours).
10318 Concorde will automatically qualify for that UK or US free gift, given it retails for £169.99 / $199.99 – and while you may be waiting a while to put your copy together, what’s a flight without a few delays? It’s all part of the airport experience. And it genuinely speaks to 10318 Concorde’s popularity, because it’s becoming increasingly rare for new releases to hit back order – especially for up to two months.
10318 Concorde is available on back order now. You can support the work that Brick Fanatics does by purchasing your copy using our affiliate links. Don’t forget to claim your free 40578 Sandwich Shop while doing so (if you’re in the UK).
Author Profile
- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
