LEGO Disney 18+ 43247 Simba the Lion King revealed
An online retailer has published the first official images of LEGO Disney 43247 Simba the Lion King, an 18+ set launching the same day as a smaller and more affordable LEGO Simba.
In an unusual move, the LEGO Group is bringing two different buildable Simbas to market on the same day: 43243 Simba the Lion King Cub and 43247 Simba the Lion King. These initial images of the 18+ version come from the Portuguese version of fnac, which says 43247 Simba the Lion King will launch on June 1 for €129.99 in Europe, so probably around £114.99 in the UK and $129.99 in the US.
The black-boxed set includes 1,445 pieces, or 1,223 more than in 43243 Simba the Lion King Cub. The model’s head is articulated at the neck, but it doesn’t look like his jaw is hinged – or at least it’s only shown hanging open in the images revealed so far. These pictures also show off the two Simbas next to one another, leaning into their differences in size and scale.
We’ll hopefully learn more about 43247 Simba the Lion King, including its international pricing, very soon – especially given it’s only weeks away from arriving on shelves. The 18+ LEGO Disney set will join more than 70 different models launching on June 1, ranging from Star Wars and Harry Potter to Speed Champions and Icons. Check them all out here.
