LEGO BrickHeadz 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure available now

LEGO BrickHeadz 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure is now available to buy on the official online store, marking a relatively rare mid-month release for the LEGO Group.

New sets usually drop on the first day of the month, but we’ve seen a handful of products break that rhythm in recent years – most recently 31212 The Milky Way Galaxy and 10341 NASA Artemis Space Launch System in the middle of May, and next up with 21350 Jaws, which debuts on August 3 for LEGO Insiders. 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure is the latest to buck the LEGO Group’s usual release schedule.

That’s because the BrickHeadz set launches today at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, doing for the Dark Knight what 2018’s 41597 Go Brick Me did for the rest of us: offering up a selection of pieces with which to build multiple different BrickHeadz within one set. The caveat is that you can’t build them simultaneously, and in fact it looks like you can really only build one Batsuit at a time.

The good news is that you shouldn’t need to pick up eight copies of the set to build them all together. Each Batsuit uses unique printed parts, which you can acquire through a single copy of 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure, and then shares common unprinted parts for the core structure. Those should hopefully all be available through Pick a Brick, so you can simply pick up the extra elements there.

That’s handy given 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure retails for more than double the price of an individual BrickHeadz statuette at £24.99 / $24.99 / €24.99. If you’re happy building one Batsuit at a time – and the rebuilding opportunities at least give it a bit more bang for its buck – you can choose from eight different Batsuits from across the Caped Crusader’s storied history.

Those include Bronze Age Batman’s suit, Adam West’s Classic TV Series Batsuit, Michael Keaton’s 1989 Batsuit, Batman: The Animated Series’ suit, Christian Bale’s Dark Knight Batsuit; Ben Affleck’s Batman v. Superman suit; Will Arnett’s The LEGO Batman Movie suit; and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman suit.

Head over to LEGO.com to snap up your copy of 40748 Batman 8in1 Figure now. Don’t forget that we’re also slap bang in the middle of the LEGO Insiders Days event, which includes double points on LEGO City, Friends, Technic and Disney sets (so unfortunately not this BrickHeadz), and two different gifts with qualifying orders.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
